Proxima Security wasn't founded in a moment.
It was founded in a collision.
For six years, Sebastian Stirban built the technology alone. A programmer turned ethical hacker, he had seen the cybersecurity industry from inside, first as a developer, then as an offensive security manager at a Northern European next-gen pentesting firm. There he found a recurring pattern: early-stage companies were systematically excluded from serious security services, and the tools meant to defend modern infrastructure were still designed for problems of the past. He left to build something different. Algorithms, machine learning, the ecosystem that would become Proxima, coded line by line, for years, with no audience and no funding.
His father, Vasile, was the first to believe. Before any investor, before any platform, before any product, he backed Sebastian with the conviction that what was being built mattered.
For those same years, Luigi De Simone walked a different path, pastry kitchens, graphic design studios, AI training. Different worlds. Same instinct: making complex things simple, beautiful, and human. A non-linear path that gave him something rare in a tech founder, the ability to look at technical complexity and ask "where does someone lose the thread, and how do I make sure they don't?
In September 2024, in a pastry shop in Naples, they sat down together. Sebastian told Luigi what he was really working on. The next day, Luigi put his money in and became a co-founder.
Within twelve months: a complete brand, a working platform, the GSA recognition, the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards finalist nomination, conversations at London Tech Week and Madrid Tech, contacts with the Italian Army and the UK Government, the first international partners.
Not because it was easy. Because the technology was real, the conviction was old, and someone finally translated it for the world to understand.
Today
Today Proxima Security operates from Naples, London, and São Paulo. We still keep, between us, the first paper notes we wrote in that pastry shop. They're with us, in the back of the phone case, for over a year now.
